Bergeron Engaged to Establish Landside Operation Following Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill
Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill
Gulf of Mexico – Alabama
June – August 2010
On April 20, 2010, the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, considered to be the largest marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry, began in the Gulf of Mexico.
Weeks later, at the request of Resolve Marine Group, a large marine based oil spill and oil rig fire fighting response company, Bergeron Emergency Services deployed its project managers to assist with establishing landside operations in Alabama.
BES established the “lay-down” yard by excavating, grading and developing boundaries for the facility which would become the focal point of Resolve’s resource intake, accountability and deployment. Additionally, BES assembled and deployed crane barges to several locations and provided booms, vessel decontamination, anchors, pumps, generators, manpower, rope and chain as needed.
