Client: Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) – Project T1557
Location: Seminole County, Florida
Project Type: Roadway Construction
Procurement Type: Contract – $53.3 million

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has retained Bergeron Land Development to widen and enhance 3.5 miles of State Road (SR) 15/1600 from Raven Avenue to Lake Mary Boulevard in Seminole County, Florida. SR 15/600 is part of US Highway 17/92 and is a major arterial highway between Sanford and Orlando, Florida. The project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2016 and be completed in spring of 2019.

The roadway is currently a substantially rural four-lane divided highway with inadequate drainage. Bergeron Land Development will be responsible to widening the road to six lanes with a closed drainage system with 1.4 acre underground storm water storage and exfiltration system.

Other improvements include replacing an existing box culvert with a bridge structure that will improve the flow of Soldier Creek, constructing concrete pavement at major intersections, and providing curb and gutter, sidewalks, and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) facilities throughout the project.
