Bergeron Emergency Services has announced that it was named among 2018’s Top 600 Specialty Contractors in the nation by Engineering News Record (ENR), a leading publication of the construction industry. According to ENR, as a group, the Top 600 specialty contractors generated revenue of more than $124 billion in 2017. Examples of specialties include asbestos abatement, demolition, fire protection, steel erection, excavation, and in the case of Bergeron Emergency Services, disaster recovery.
Currently, Bergeron crews are working to remove, manage and dispose of storm debris in the Florida Panhandle in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael which made landfall on October 10th. As the strongest storm to ever strike the area, Michael is responsible for 54 deaths and damages estimated to be between $8 and $11 billion as of October 22, 2018.
“Our team is working diligently to return parts of the panhandle community back to normal as quickly as possible,” said J.R. Bergeron, Founder, Owner and President of Bergeron Emergency Services. “It’s a big responsibility and the work can be daunting at times. But, in the end, the satisfaction of having a hand in helping entire communities is a great reward. Getting notification of this distinction from ENR is a big boost for us when we could use it the most.“
This is not the first award presented to the Bergeron Family of Companies by ENR. Bergeron Land Development was awarded the ENR Southeast’s Best Environmental/Water Project two years in a row. In 2017, Bergeron won for its work on the Port Everglades Wetlands Restoration in Broward County. In 2016, its design-build project to fight flooding due to heavy rains, king tide and raising sea levels in Miami Beach won top honors. Also in 2016, Bergeron was named one of the Top 100 Contractors in the Southeast.
